About DUG

The Datatel Users’ Group (DUG) is a professional association of members from higher education institutions that utilize Datatel’s products and services. The DUG organization is one of the finest users’ groups in the technology community. We are members serving members. Keep reading to learn more about the Datatel Users’ Group organizational structure and how it operates and most importantly how that will help you!

DUG Structure
The managing body of DUG is comprised of fifteen member-elected representatives from member institutions each serving a three-year term. Members of the Governing Board are volunteers actively involved in the administration or use of Datatel software at their institutions. The Board elects its own President, Vice Presidents and Secretary/Treasurer and is comprised of three working committees. Read more about each of the Board Committees.

The Datatel Users’ Group Bylaws govern the operations of the DUG organization. The Governing Board maintains DUG Policies and Procedures to provide organizational continuity given the volunteer, rotating nature of the Board.

DUG Membership Benefits
Take advantage of the many benefits of membership including peer networking, professional development, and client advocacy. While the DUG national Annual Conference is the cornerstone of the Datatel Users’ Group, we provide many other valuable services and opportunities to collaborate. Regional Conferences are held across the United States throughout the year. Through our organization, the conferences and several Advisory Teams, the user group provides client advocacy for our members. We work regularly with Datatel to enhance their solutions, software services, training, documentation, and communications. This gives member institutions the opportunity to make a difference.

Members are encouraged to Get Involved with the organization through our many volunteer acivities.

DUG News & Business
Stay current with DUG News and Governing Board activities, by reading the Board’s tri-annual newsletters.  In addition, DUG Business reports are available on an annual basis. And watch the General Announcements Forum for news and updates for the general membership. Announcements that are specific to a particular forum will be posted in those specific forums (such as CAT minutes).
